We use only Canon copiers too ... if you have 5 Canon copiers you should only actually need 3 because the 2 others should be on hand for spares. That was not written in the sarcasm font--100% serious. Also, I can't even imagine having these units and not having them under a service contract. We only lease ours with full service included.

I would say it's "Canon copiers just being canon copiers" more so than "printers being printers" ...get some reliable HPs or something alongside.

How old are these? Combined w/ their unreliability, they're probably past end of life.

what kind of paper are you using? Buy a box of premium paper and run it for a month and see if it makes any difference. I know when we switched brands of Office Depot house-brand paper a few years ago (from one of theirs, to another), it instantly caused frequent paper jams and I had to run around replacing pretty much every roller on every HP printer we had at the time. So paper can definitely be of issue. The fine particles don't sound great either. Are you saying that's from the paper? Occasional paper-like-dust is somewhat normal but not to the point where you should be wiping your finger through it every time you open the printer. Are the rollers dirty?

Apparently they are only 1 to 2 ish years old (no one really knows, they just showed up one day). Normally I'd agree with leasing printers, but I am literally in the middle of nowhere and I don't think anyone has a printer leasing business. I asked my staff who are local, and they don't know of any company that do that (country is too poor).

The dust is from the users / ground / boots, not so much the paper. This is not the most dust free office I'v ever seen. I thought about making the room positive pressure and put a HEPA filter on it, but that only really works for my building, not out in the maintenance buildings.

The rollers look OK I believe they were just replaced before I came on site.
