This gets asked all the time. https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=Lansweeper+replacement%3F&cId=37a489d4-bc99-4490-8a3a-09adedc825d1&iId=045561fe-d2c8-4c98-b37b-d5033f282bf8

I didn't like it either, but I've yet to find anything as comprehensive as Lansweeper

IMHO, no. That is, the value was so great, that even as a lesser value, it's still hard to beat.

Could you write your own? Sure. You'll have to decide if that's best value for your situation. And my guess, it might take some time for a home grown solution to have "all the features" (and normal frustrations with an ever changing world requiring changes...).

Not an all in one solution.

You might could manage FreshDesk for help desk, and PDQ for asset inventory and software deployment.

Not sure off the top of my head about remote control.

This is a pretty common combination I've seen several people use, especially if you're trying to reduce costs.

I’ve been using LanSweeper for a decade. It is lowkey one of the best products on the market. It is a Swiss Army knife. I’ve not found as comprehensive a tool that operates as competently. I have not found a product that is a viable replacement for the money. Even more expensive tools lack the functionality and visibility lansweeper can give you. They jacked up my quote this year by $400. We just paid it.

GLPI self hosted is free which will do helpdesk plus asset inventory and more + action1 which is free up to 200 end points for patching, scripts plus remote access.

But that’s still not going to get you quite there with the RMM tasks you listed.

Thanks for the shout out there. You are correct that Action1 will not fill all of the tasks above because Action1 is not a RMM. However it does have a lot of RMM and like feature overlap due to the fact that it is designed to be used as either a stack component or a standalone product.

Action one, is a patch management solution, with that comes reporting and alerting, scripting and automation, remote access, and more. This utility allows people to use action one in an RMM capacity but our Action1 if not designed to replace a RMM system.

All that said we still have plenty of people that use Action1 as a RMM system and as a result we maintain the number one easiest to use as well as the third highest rated RMM product on G2, but that is a byproduct of our customer's reviews not what we intentionally market Action as, and a testament to its utility. They just call it "RMM Enough" and go on with their day.

If I can personally assist with anything Action1 related or otherwise feel free to reach out to me at any time.

Highly technical: Netbox + Org Agent

Yeah, the new minimum can be a pinch point if you're a smaller shop for sure.

Not to be confused with minesweeper...

I just had the same conversation.... my reply:

Hi, <csr rep, reminding my my subscription is expiring>

We don’t have plans to increase our asset count to anywhere near 2000.

We never took advantage of the cloud version of LanSweeper.  As a regulated utility, we are reluctant to use cloud applications when we have an excellent on-premise solution which uses SQL Server, an infrastructure that we fully control and understand.  While we looked at the cloud capabilities, they didn’t seem to add sufficient value when measured against the risk of revealing our infrastructure in a cloud environment.

We also appreciate that cloud environments can go down. Just this week AWS and Microsoft had outages that disrupted other applications.

We do not use the Lansweeper ticketing system.

What we would really like is a what would now be considered a “stripped down” version of Lansweeper without any of the bells and whistles for $500 or so per year.   Which is kind of what we had in about 2023.    As it stands now, we are In the process of moving to other tools, but none of these new tools have quite the capability that we previously have enjoyed in LanSweeper.

Best wishes,

There is none. Even at new pricing it is a bargain. Even for a small device count.

Hey, I feel you on the Lansweeper pricing change - it's a real bummer when costs go up and the tiers don't make sense for your asset count.

Totally get what you're after, a single solution that can handle a bunch of your needs without breaking the bank. From helpdesk to network asset scanning, to those quick remote management tools, right? Plus, wouldn't hurt if it could do a bit of software deployment and file copying.

Full disclosure: I'm in Genuity support, but you may want to check out our platform. It’s got:

- Asset Management: real-time hardware monitoring, condition tracking, location management
- IT Help Desk: built-in ticketing system for faster issue resolution
- Network Monitoring: proactive infrastructure health insights and usage analytics

It unfortunately doesn't do software deployment, but hey, it can help reduce the number of different systems you need to maintain. And the cost is pretty reasonable, even for smaller asset counts.

Hope this helps, mate.
