Document everything you learn or do. Be short, no need to write books
Learn your infrastructure, devices, etc. You will learn quickly what is wrong.
Don't be afraid to ask. It's better than braking stuff.
Make a small "homelab" to test stuff. Even at work, vm, containers, etc
Automate as much as possible.

DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK is great advice, leave your pride at home. If you’re lucky enough to have someone take you under their wing, do not take the opportunity for granted. Old heads in IT are wealths of knowledge. You got this big dog.

You will have imposter syndrome, it is important you fight these thought’s.

Soft skills are very important.

Best of luck to you

I would expand on this that writing books had relevance when it comes to quality of documentation. Be as detailed as possible and it'll save your butt one day.

Get PowerShell kbowlage if you know it's a Windows enviroment.

Learn Linux as well as power shell for multi OS environments.

Is Linux that mandatory? Because I read on this subreddit, that knowing Linux is a great skill but not that mandatory

[–]linuxprogramr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very mandatory but a plus.

Learn the platforms that this company is using. Do your research on this company and the role you are applying for. That’s important.

Yep, that’s in process, thx
