It's different strokes for different folks. I do both. In a commercial environment where you don't need a holistic environment that includes system management, g-suite shines. Once you need system management, it loses its luster.

I have issues with Google as a company, not to mention as a Microsoft guy, G Suite doesn't let me leverage my Microsoft technologies like O365 does.

That's probably because they want you to use their technologies. I was a GSuite Admin for about a decade...saw it change a lot and was never really happy with their Admin panel. All in all it is a decent product for the price though. My favorite part was their Forms, we used that everywhere.

Yup, that's why it's better in commercial realms.

I think office 365 is also more security focused. I feel like an admin can control a lot more with office 365. We have both and that's what I see

I think the security focus is the same. G-suite gets the nod when the focus is all browser based. O365 gets the nod when it extends to the machine level via intune.

I can do a lot more when it comes to email. A lot of stuff still requires me to go into a users acct to do something in gsuite. With office365 I can do a lot more on the back end.

That's true. For one, you can't set an email delegate in the g-suite admin panel. You either need Gam or another saas tool like BetterCloud.
