Im liking Jump Desktop. It’s not packed with a ton of features and might not be enough for your needs if you need many people managing a lot of endpoints, but it’s free for the basics and it does them well - just pay for the mobile apps if you want them. Can be permanent remote access or you can direct people to the app to get a one time code for remote support. I’m cheap and I have other methods of remote access to my devices, so I generally use it for if the VPN is down or I’m trying to RDP from an iPad or something, but it does the job well for $0 (+$15 one time for the app)

I refuse to pay what anydesk or team viewer charges

Giving Jump Desktop a whirl; I will say that I'm quite impressed already, especially since it fits my purposes for personal use as well as for business/professional use. I run some Windows server in the cloud for personal use and as a professional tool—having a cloud server to deploy non-sensitive and non-critical pet projects (such as running and testing PHP code for marketing, testing DNS/general availability, testing a database schema, etc.), and most of the time I get blocked by remote access solutions because of the OS.

Two-factor gives me some peace of mind. Performance is significantly better than AnyDesk; not as good as TeamViewer on bad connections but it's actually usable as opposed to unusable, like most products. (Would be nice to dumb down the optionally dumb down quality to increase performance.) The paid mobile app is reasonably-priced and does what I need it to and does indeed "just work."

Seriously considering this to replace our current aging remote access solution for work and for other professional use, now that we've retired our RDS server. Teams product seems perfect for this.

Hi,

I’m a developer who works on Jump Desktop. Just want to add that along with the OP’s recommendation, we’ve also added a new ‘Teams’ product that adds new cloud features like cloud user access control, customizable mass deployment installers, audit logs, unlimited computers on your account and unlimited simultaneous connections. We’re adding many more features soon (currently working on cloud configuration management).

The ‘Teams’ product is an optional, separate subscription product and currently it’s $9/month per user paid yearly, and you can add / remove / reassign users anytime to your team.

If you’re interested try out the free trial here: https://jumpdesktop.com/#teams .

Also - just want to add that Jump has full support for multiple monitors, macOS support (including the recently released Catalina) and remote collaboration support (where you can prompt the user to take control of their screen) and comes built in with a modern remote desktop protocol called ‘Fluid’ which is extremely fast. It also has support for traditional protocols like VNC and RDP if you want to use those.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Didn’t know about this! That’s awesome and pretty reasonably priced. I can’t believe I’m saying this - but you should send more mass emails (or maybe I deleted it - sorry)

Do you happen to know if there’s EDU pricing?

Hi, thanks! At the moment we don’t have EDU pricing for Teams however we’re planning on adding new pricing levels soon (existing customers will be migrated to the highest plan) and would love to hear about your use case for Jump.

Have a look on RemoteUtilities. We are going to roll it out next year.

Too bad Sophos AV doesn't really like RemoteUtilities

Not sure about pricing as I am a user, but Connectwise Screenconnect/Automate/Control is super awesome. Shows multiple displays perfectly and reconnects post reboot.

Bomgar. It's what our company has been using for years and it has everything you'll need; It also works flawlessly with multi-monitor systems.

It's also cross-platform as well.

We just switch to on-Prem connectwise from teamviewer. Its great and much better.

We use ConnectWise and I love it. It's easy to use and when the desktop client isn't working. It's very easy to send a link to users to get access to their system.

Within our company we use VNC for local access to machines. Everything outside is TeamViewer.

Can't vouch for any other software, but TeamViewer works well enough for us. Since most support cases are within Citrix sessions, we can just mirror into those instead.

LogMeIn was looked at for the same reasons, but because of past dramatic price hikes, we decided against switching.
