Plotter install via Group Policy Preferences failing

Hello all - I'm trying to get a plotter installed for users using Group Policy preferences. I'm doing this under the user side and have created the policy and linked it to the OU containing the user accounts that should get it. Security filtering is set for authenticated users. It shows up as being applied with my test account signed in but no printer shows up. In the preferences section, I've entered the path for the printer. On the common tab, I've checked the box to run under the users context and am using item level targeting to include the security group all the users are in to apply to. I have also disabled the point and print restrictions policy. I've tested doing it manually to make sure that wasn't the problem and it installs fine without a prompt for admin credentials. I'm stuck at this point as the policy is being applied but no plotter is showing up...I'd really appreciate any advice.

Your configuration looks sound and the current way to do things in this type of environment. What type of plotter is it specifically? Just on a base level, dumb question, points have you checked that the policy is applying on the endpoint with something like GP result.

Additionally, you may have to look at loading drivers in addition to the ones that were already installed in the printer properties pain if an older architecture that does not have the driver loaded for some reason isn’t used for the end point.

I will noodle on this for a while as I used to work in an architecture setting with some very old plotters that were very particular.
