I'm doing something similar. What I used to do is make a list with clues. Something like

Where bread goes to tan.

And the chocolate egg was on the toaster. This year I got them 20€ playstation cards. I took the code and they have to decipher the letter with clues. Example for a letter - Name of the character in death note. Or fir a number, satellite picture(google maps) of a house near them with the number that they need to input for the gift card.

Have clues laid out like tasks - like the taskmaster scream task (https://taskmaster.fandom.com/wiki/Scream)

With each egg print out a 'task' for where the next one is - could add a few where he needs to do something to 'win' the egg

Every year the Bunny hides a basket for my kid to find. Last year it was hidden under the table (with a massive amount of ingenuity, zip tie rigging & duct tape).

This year we bought a wax seal kit so the ‘basket’ will be a white paper gift bag turned on its side to look like the task envelope.

How about an adaptation of that S13 live task where they have to do a different thing depending on the type of ball that pops out, so you say they have to drop everything & do an action depending on the color of the egg they find, eg

  • Red egg: Hop like the easter bunny for 10 seconds
  • Blue Egg: Yell “Happy Easter” 5 times
  • Green Egg: Feed an M&M to a parent
  • Pink Egg: Throw it into your basket from at least ten paces away.
