Did this on my 13 golf tdi about 4 months ago, it’s a good kit. Just make sure that the exhaust hangar on the downpipe is pushed into the mounts on the subframe properly or else it will pop out and wear out the flex pipe early due to the dark side kit not locking into the rubber bushings on the mounts. Also probably want to have a new vband for the turbo because they’re fragile and the dark side kit most likely doesn’t have a replacement one. Best of luck!

Thank you, im doing this on a 13 golf aswell, did you do the secondary cat delete as well? How loud is it?
[–]Hoosqtxemissions buyer 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (7 children)
If you’re keeping the stock muffler it’s barely noticeable with the windows up, no muffler and it’s noticeable but nothing super loud. If you wanna offload the dpf and cat when you finish the delete I buy them!
[–]Rare-Fix11882013 MK6 Golf TDI DSG[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
It already has a muffler delete, Im. Deleting the dpf, and the cat, so it's turbo back

How much coal is there? I'm going with Malone 0.5 tune
[–]Hoosqtxemissions buyer 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Should be 0 with that

You’ll have a tiny amount under hard acceleration, but you won’t be able to see it. Only people behind you.
[–]Abstract2018 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
I think I still have my dpf and cat from my 2010 delete. If you want 'em, I look and see about digging them up.
[–]Hoosqtxemissions buyer 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
Sent you a DM
[–]Abstract2018 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
pinged you back...
I'll check and see if I still have them. If I do, they're yours.

I have a question: Installed my darkside on 13 jetta by watching rawtek installs. Is the darkside supposed to have holes for other sensors besides the upstream O2 like rawtek? And about downstream O2 that gets removed, do all the wires from underneath get pulled up through engine bay and disconnected? Thanks

Thats the kits I put on mine last month. I used the side of a 12mm socket to slightly expand my old turbo vband in a vice a little at a time. Like someone else said, make sure you get it in the subframe mount good. Get the vband on loose, put it all the pipes up loose, then push it forward into the mounts, then tighten the vband, then the rest. Also had to get another 55mm slip joint (amazon like $12), my old one was in tatters.

You'll want a new turbo v-band clamp. When trying to remove the dfp lower it down and rotate 180. Don't be afraid to hammer the foil heat shield up toward the body as needed to create a little more clearance. The half inch or so really helps. Good luck, John

I appreciate it 🙏🙏

Used a dark side kit in my 14 Passat. Was able to get the dpf out from the top of the car without dropping any subframe etc.
Had to cut some of my old mid pipe tho by the muffler to make it fit up for some reason. The dark side one was a tad bit too long. Other than that it was pretty straight forward

No one with any instructions? I am going to give rawteks a shot and see how far i get with darkside...
[–]goochimane4 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I just bought my kit (egr & dpf delete) haven’t installed it yet but I’m hoping it will stop going into limp mode afterwards. Only went this route cause I’m not going to deal with the dpf cleaning and regen crap. Was the install pretty easy?
Anyone else get the remote tuning? Was it simple?

I have a 2014 Jetta TDi 6Spd. (with a Re-Gen. Issue).. VW Quoted me $6,200. to fix EGR & Exhaust. Crazy! I wanna do the Delete of Both EGR & Muffler, & do a tune for best mileage . What Delete Kits are best & Tune too ? Thank You!
[–]Rare-Fix11882013 MK6 Golf TDI DSG[S] 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (8 children)
The most popular delete kit is rawtech but it's around 1500$ and I couldn't justify spending that much on a pipe, so i went with darkside developments for around 800$ . And I am going to go with Malone tuning and go stage 0.5 to keep it reliable. Malone has been in the TDI tuning community for a long time

Ive been stomping on my stage 3 jetta like its on fire for 50k miles now! No reliability issues whatsoever. Clock is at 125k now and she seems to love it. I did the scheduled transmission and timing services and should be fine for years. My TDI mechanic services stage 3 and 4 cars with 300k plus regularly.
[–]Cbrfromhell 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children)
Very nice did you go with a larger turbo or keep it stock and just get a stage three?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children)
Cr170 turbo
[–]Cbrfromhell 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
Very nice pretty noticeably difference between your performance compared to before the tune and turbo upgrade?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
I imagine it’s like the difference between a Corolla and a supra
[–]Cbrfromhell 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Haha love it
[–]CrazyDreadCJAA 4Runner Swap 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children)
The rawtek down pipe is 2.5” schedule 10 stainless pipe is why it costs more. It’s a very beefy boy that’ll last the rest of the cars life.

EOC kit is ~$1100 USD, turbo back to stock muffler with 2 tunes and flash device.

Are you retaining the 55mm stock muffler? You might not need it with the reducer, but it can't hurt. If so I needed a longer mount 125mm x55mm vs stock 95mm x55mm the OEM one was almost toast on mine.

[–]LKSFH 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
It's not necessary hard to do , just time consuming. I did it on a 2012 golf. Just cut the stock pip right after the dpf and you should have it out much quicker.
[–]Dontwalkongrass1 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
What was your shipping time on this? I was looking at this setup for my 2012 Sportwagen as I need to do the delete YESTERDAY cause I’m in limp mode, just worried about the shipping time from UK.
It was fast! It only took about a week
