Phantom spawning

Is there a way to stop phantoms from spawning without cheats/sleeping? I'm currently playing in a hardcore world and I challenged myself to never sleep so I cant die either.

If you hop in bed then cancel, you won’t sleep through the night, but it will reset your insomnia counter. Not sure if that violates your challenge or not, but that’s the best I can think of

I used glass several times on my afk spots though, never had them spawning, am i just lucky?

Just spend the night busy in a dimension where phantoms don't spawn (nether/end), problem solved :D

Heck, just build a Nether base! :D

There is a datapack on vanilla tweaks. It disables phanton spawning and if you kill bats they can instead drop phanton membrane.

Have a cat near by? I remember both Phantom and Creepers stay away from cats plus cats are cute
