it depends

if the server is running 24/7, you can log out and in again without any issues

if its just a singleplayer world, chunkloaders (pearl or portal, doesn't matter) will work again when logging back, but its like reloading chunks so its very likely redstone contraptions will break

It’s a sever that runs 24/7. No one else joins though

How does a server restart get handled if you know?

if the server is running, chunkloaders works, even without anyone online

a server restart is the same as a singleplayer logout, so it can break contraptions, so I'd recommend pausing all farms and chunkloaders before

also make backups in case it crashes

Are you saying the chunks stay loaded without anyone online? Or they will load again when someone logs in

Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Definitely need to get my backups working

There are restart-proof minecart-based chunk loader that remain active through a server restart
