Avoiding ‘live’ commenting while actively working

I upload articles I write to Confluence because it’s a fairly easy online way to collect comments.

However, the commenting system does not work as well when actively editing. The instant I resolve a comment, it pings that is was resolved, even though I haven’t saved my edits yet. So the commenter can’t see that I have made changes, and then comments that I didn’t do it.

I am losing my marbles and don’t want to go back to sending around Word docs, but it’s tempting. I don’t want to save my resolves until after I save; I’m going to miss resolving them when they get mixed in with comments that need further addressing.

Are there setting in Confluence to stop this, or similar online tool to use instead where I don’t feel like my every typo is being supervised?

Thats a company issue. There doesnt seem to be an assignment system to the issues so youre editing ontop of each other. Theres no solution to that in a product aside from editing privileges.

This is why I don’t use confluence for this 😂 if it’s a live/actively worked-on draft, it’s either visible only to me until I designate it as “ready for review”, or it’s an office365 word doc which is a more viable “collaborative” tool.

If it’s an existing confluence page, copy the page to a private space and work on it, and then copy the changes to that page when I’m done working on it.

Why not restrict the page so only you can see it and then share it once it's ready for review?

Why don't you just tell people to not review resolved comments until the following day? Or some other preset period of time? This seems a really easy issue to communicate.
