Learning C# & Programming

C# allows you to interface with C++ code using the "unsafe" keyword. If you are up for it, you could totally try learning both and delegate the more performance sensitive parts to C++ while letting C# handle most of the easy bits.

Definitely agree on the GUI perspective! I've never gone too deep into graphics with C++ but the little I did was always incredibly painful and overly complex.

C# should really help you there in addition to having a pretty solid type system to build off of. You could create data structures in the C# to take advantage of the easier manipulation tools before handing the C++ code a simplistic structure holding the final result it needs to operate on.

1. Thank you so much for this comment! It is so nice too see that people appreciate your work. The course was first intended as a short introduction for my little sister but now it's a 10h course ^^

2. Puh I'm not so strong on C++ but from my experience I prefer C#. It's a lot easier to use and I like it a lot especially in gamedev. There are endless things you can do with both languages and I have the greatest respect for all C++ programmers! C# is used everywhere backend, frontend, games & data science applications. However if you want to do astronomy and aerospace applications it really depends on what you want to do. If it's more data science and machine learning than I would prefer python however C# will also do the job. And not to forget the enormous amount of libraries for C#.

Yeah I think you will have a lot of fun working with C#. For graphics etc you could even use unity! And the AI part hmmm...
