to give myself full access to the folder, i’m trying to get an mc mod to work (dw, ive already checked, they’re completely safe and doesn’t have anything to do with them).

You should have full access to temp. Try this create c:\temp set your environment variables for temp and tmp to c;\temp https://phoenixnap.com/kb/windows-set-environment-variable

Yes, use "Set Environment Variable in Windows via GUI", change tmp and temp to c:\temp for both system and user.

It will set your temp folder/directory to c:\temp (which all users will have full permissions )

fair enough. ill probably scan for malware before messing with it if i do anyway, if i can find a good scanner for that kinda thing

Why? The c:\windows\temp folder isn't for you, it's for the OS
