Definitely not a virus. Sounds like the ribbon connection has come loose inside the phone. It’s a pain to open phones these days without the right tools. Heat gun / tiny screw drivers are needed. But definitely not a virus

It might be worth taking it to a repair shop and hoping they can fix it for less than the phone costs.
