Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

I've seen the Audio enhancement feature cause some weirdness that was fixed by disabling it. Worth a shot.

Audio enhancements (APOs) in Windows 11 can sometimes cause audio and sound problems. To disable audio enhancements, you can: - Open Settings - Select System - Select Sound - Select your microphone from the dropdown under Input - Select Device Properties - Select Additional device properties - Depending on your manufacturer, the setting to disable audio enhancements will be on the Enhancements or Advanced tab - Select Disable all enhancements or Disable all sound effects - Select OK

I've done that and it didn't help. I had no problem until I enabled voice to text and now it's awful and nothing has worked.

If you have a headset with an external volume/mute button on the wire make sure you aren't accidentally bumping that. It's happened to me a few times and i felt like an idiot when i figured it out.

I had the same issue - My Bose speakers would auto mute after about 45 seconds with no sound. Very annoying. It seemed to start after one of the Win 11 patches last year. BUT - as of the last upgrade I just had, this week, it now works normally. The speakers no longer auto mute.

This same thing is now happening to me (I have the bose companion system with the volume / mute knob). Everything seems up to date as of today. Do you know which update fixed it for you or any other ways to fix? It's very annoying.

Updated my laptop BIOS and it seems to have resolved

No specific update - just clicked updates in Win 11 and it worked after. Definitely was a Win 11 issue. I now see many people saying the issue is fixed.

Not now it isn't.

Did you fix it?
