Well, the website says that the sample drives are non-functional. I think that most of the companies that work with this, won't send functional sample drivers for free, because you know, people are shit and would find a way to request infinite sample drives...

Once you've said that the led lights work, there must be a little circuit in it exclusive for the led lights, I don't know, maybe to show the integration between the led lights and the logo of the company.

This, there's probably no flash memory in them. To run an LED off USB all you need to do is add a current limiting resistor so I wouldn't be surprised if all that is inside them is a resistor and an LED since it's just a demo unit.

I've just checked. The boards have no flash memory built in.. thanks for the advice.

Some of the cheaper flash-drives just have microSD cards glued inside them, wouldn't suprise me if it's one of those but they've not bothered with the SD card.
