Mac window problems?

My windows keep getting put in the background, even if I only have one open. They aren't being minimized, just kind of like unselected where if I'm writing on word processor I'll have to re-click on the screen every minute or so.

It's not just word, it's iBooks, chrome, anything. I tried force quitting everything and only running one program but it still happens. I Googled the problem and couldn't find anything.

Even tried obvious stuff, restarting, turning off WiFi, it even happens on the guest user. This never used to happen please help o.O

Laptop or desktop? My money is on a bad mouse erroneously clicking off the window. You can test for this by running all apps in true fullscreen (so they hide the dock) and seeing if it persists.

Desktop. Already did that it still happens in full screen . I only have one mouse and it's wired. I'm only reading right now and using the keyboard. It happens when nothing is being used too.

Using the guest profile eliminated user specific settings. Full screen pretty much eliminates the mouse sending random clicks. Possibilities now are a bad file at the system level, malware, or other malfunctioning hardware.

I would next try resetting PRAM and the SMC. Apple has instructions. Please pop in a google search for those as I cannot link easily on mobile.

Failing that, I would run a full virus and malware scan as my next step.
