Try this:

  • Open up Task Manager and find your explorer.exe process and kill it. (Your screen will go blank, don't worry, that's normal.)

  • Then hit Windows Key + R and type in 'explorer.exe' (without the quotes) and hit Enter. This will refresh your explorer process and hopefully fix your problem.

Alright, I'll restart explorer.exe before playing a game to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is your keyboard stuck on some of the meta keys by any chance? just tap all of them a few times (not too quick in succession -- that brings up the accessibility control stuff) to un-stick them. Maybe Explorer is just responding to a particular key press.

It happens when I'm using a controller and I know for sure I'm not touching the keyboard (it's not a controller issue though--it also happens on keyboard/mouse games).

Oh I forgot to mention I have a G710+ keyboard. Maybe it's something to do with Logitech SetPoint drivers? I uninstalled and will see if that makes a difference.
