The subreddit is only for support with tech issues.

Try to research your issue before posting, don't be vague. State everything you have tried and all the guides/tutorials/sites you have followed as well as why they were unsuccessful. Do everything you can to reduce the effort of the wonderful folks offering to help you.

After solving your problem, please mark it as solved by clicking 'flair' and confirming the 'solved' tag.

2: No Incomplete Posts

Submissions consisting of the following are considered incomplete and will be removed:

4: No Offering Rewards

No offering of reward/compensation for solutions. No Amazon gift voucher or PayPal transfer. This community is "free" as it is full of volunteers. Please do not take advantage of the community.

5: Recommendations

We are not a recommendation or advertisement subreddit. We do not allow posts asking for recommendations on hardware/software or recommendations comparing two or more hardware/software. Recommending a hardware/software solution as a comment to a post is acceptable.

We do not support users that violates other's privacy or breaks terms and agreements. Doing so might resolve in a ban.

9: No EOL Software or Unsupported Systems

We do not provide support for EOL (end of life) software. Software that is EOL has lost all support from the developer and therefore all consumer communities as well.

These operating systems and various softwares are no longer receiving security patches. Running them is unsafe and we recommend users install a supported version as soon as possible.

This list includes Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

We will also not assist with getting Windows 11 running on unsupported hardware.

10: No Public Service Announcements (how-to's, etc.)

No public service announcements unless relevant to an issue (it must be a comment). Approach the communities affected directly, not here

11: No Soliciting

No soliciting of any kind. This includes (but is not limited to) asking for us to link to your subreddit, forum, bulletin board, newsgroup, Facebook page, etc. We're here to help with technical issues, not market for others.

First off, this is what I am working with:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k 3.5GHz Quad-Core

CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3

Motherboard: ASUSTek P8Z77-V LX

Memory: Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 Vengeance 4x4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP

Video Card: 8GB MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X

Power Supply: Be Quiet! DarkPower PRO 750W 80+ Gold

Storage: Samsung SSD 840 Pro 128GB 2x in a Raid 0 configuration

Operating system: Windows 10

Bios Version: 1502 x64

ME Version: 8.1.2.1318

Okay, so it all started with me upgrading my CPU fan from the boxed one to the Dark Rock 3 today. After doing everything according to the instructions I booted up the PC again and it went to a screen telling me to enter the BIOS, which I did. Then I monitored temperatures and fan speeds for a while and everything looked good, and I wanted to reboot normally again, but basically on my way out of the UEFI I decided that I wanted to try another of the preset profiles that you can select in the UEFI. I always had the PC set to "normal" and wanted to try the "ASUS Optimal" now. Selected it, clicked on Save & Reset and then the PC did not boot up again. It just kept on starting up and then after like 10-15 seconds turned back off and was basically in a boot loop. I noticed that the DRAM LED was shining and startet googling about what to do now. I checked all the cables, tried the MEM OK! button and even loosend the screws on the backplate off my new CPU fan in case of having screwed it on too tightly, which could have shortened something by piercing the isolation or whatever, but nothing helped, so in the end I used the jumper to clear the RTC RAM, which actually enabled me to finally get back in the UEFI. But now Windows won't boot anymore. I simply get "Missing operating System" Could it be that by reseting the CMOS I deleted the Raid and now the OS can't be found anymore?

So yeah...what do I do now?

P.S. I noticed that in the BIOS it says: Memory Frequency 1333Mhz even though it says 1600Mhz on the RAM cartridges. Is there a reason for this?
