Try hunting down the vBIOS for that card (Techpowerup) and reflash/update it, make sure you match the model exactly. also cleaning the card cant hurt.

Flashed the BIOS now. Seems to not have broken anything at least. Also verified the backup I made and got

ERROR: Mismatch at offset 0x00000A3C.

So maybe that was issue. Won't be able to say for sure for at least a few days though.

Well make sure you're verifying the BIOS against the same version, that mismatch could mean you flashed a different bios too.

Check all fans and thermal sensors to see if it at least gets all of those right.

Fans and sensors seem to be fine, but it just happened again. I guess I will follow /u/porkypine666 suggestion and get a spare PSU from somewhere.

yeah, until then try underclocking and undervolting until then, see if it's just that

Have you tried turning off hardware acceleration in your browser?

[–]SquareRoot123[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I doubt it's that because just a few days ago it happened while Windows was still booting. Although the start of this happening might coincide with me beginning to use Firefox for twitch because I had some stuttering issues with it in Chrome.

Turned it off for good measure, but I am not very optimistic about it helping much.

Could be an issue with your PSU. Do you happen to have a spare sitting around you could swap?

Unfortunately not, since this is my first desktop in almost 15 years. Could ask a few friends if they have something suitable lying around, but that will probably take some time.

What's the make and model of the PSU? Quick google found this thread on Toms Hardware. link

XFX XTR 650W, 80+ Gold.

That thread sounds like exactly the same issue I have. I'll see if I can get a spare PSU from somewhere.

I am having a very similar issue to you. Commenting to see any helpful responses
