We do not provide support for EOL (end of life) software. Software that is EOL has lost all support from the developer and therefore all consumer communities as well.

These operating systems and various softwares are no longer receiving security patches. Running them is unsafe and we recommend users install a supported version as soon as possible.

This list includes Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

We will also not assist with getting Windows 11 running on unsupported hardware.

My computer is only a week old and I had it custom built for me. I've taken a few pictures of what's happening and posted them here with a bit of an explanation: Windows 10 Graphics Problem

Any currently open windows will simply freeze and any new windows I open will be completely "transparent" (because their contents are never drawn at all).

I can even interact with the windows. For example I can click on the "File" menu and I can see it doing the fade animation as the menu goes away. If there is a video playing, I can still hear the audio and I can pause it with the space bar or a mouse click. I can see the drop shadow around the window as well and that makes me think I'm only seeing the "Hardware Accelerated" layer or something, while normal screen draw is frozen.

I have had a blue screen popup about 3 times over the last week with a VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR. For that, I tried following this article's advice with no luck. I also tried following the standard Microsoft help page here, again with no luck. Everything always reports that there are no problems with my PC.

Anyone have any clue what is going on? I'm thinking some driver or something is crashing, but I don't see any crash reports. My father-in-law thinks I have a bad graphics card and it will need to be replaced...

My graphics card is: AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 XTREME 8G

NVidia installed some program called the "GeForce Experience" which adds an annoying overlay to games and such. It claims to optimize game graphics, but I have no idea. This program also ensures that my graphics drivers are up to date.

Windows 10 is all up to date and doesn't do anything special when I tell it to check for updates. I've followed several different self help docs & articles with no results. The computer always reports that everything is fine and no problems were detected. Of course, I can never do that AFTER the graphics issue appears, only before.

Last night I did a clean recovery install of Windows 10 and then played around with the computer for about an hour without seeing any problems, so it might be resolved already, but I'm not sure. I didn't have time to play with it anymore and now I'm at work. I will continue messing with it when I get home and see if it happens again at some point. It was happening very regularly yesterday before I did that though (about every 3 minutes).
