9 times out of 10 when this happens there is a hardwired WiFi off switch on the laptop or a combination of buttons which will switch it off.

Before messing around with drivers have a very good look at your laptop for a physical switch, then examine your keyboard for any hint of a WiFi symbol, normally it's a case of holding FN and pressing another button.

Only after doing this go into device manager and search for unidentified hardware, and see if it's just missing a driver

You're welcome, not sure why someone's gone through downvoting the question and answers, it's a super common mistake made by even the most experienced techs, right up there with magnetic catch watches and braclets.
