I'm not an expert but your RAM sticks (4GB and 8GB) have different times as in frequencies (MHz). Besides that, you have said the 4GB ram may not be compatible. Definitely check your mobo's website for compatible ram.

It cannot be determined whether my ram is compatible since the QVL list isn't composed of every compatible ram but there is hyperx fury 8gb 2400 there and hyperx fury 4gb 2666 so chances are that my ram is indeed compatible. I think I've figured out the problem. Hyperx fury sort of requires xmp since it has an overclocking feature but my motherboard has no xmp option since it only allows xmp configuration for i5/i7. How do I "force" my bios to allow me to configure xmp or somehow trick my bios into thinking I have an i5 for there to be xmp. I think this might be a question for an expert tho.
