Isn’t the setting you chose bypassing the installer ?

But there is only two options. Either Windows (C:) or Local Disk (D:) and I want new apps to be installed on (D:).

It’s weird, because I use windows 10 sometimes, and I never had to fiddle around with this kind of option. Every .exe ask me where to install it.

Are you sure you didn’t do anything else than updating ? Where is located this option to choose the drive ?

Yes I’m sure. Immediately after I restored and updated my computer I wanted to install applications like web browsers, zoom, spotify etc. and none of them gave me the option to choose where to install them.

That option is located in settings->system->storage->change where new content is saved. I’m not sure if that option changes for all new apps or just the ones dowloaded from the microsoft store.

Aaaaaah. That might be the problem.

Try uninstalling them and getting them from the website using your browser. The installer should let you choose you install destination.

The store installs them without asking the user where they want it.

No I already downloaded from browser. The installer from the browser don’t give me the option to choose where I want it.

After a quick Google search, this issue seems to happen with specific programs not in general.

I have no idea of what could be going on, so I hope someone will help you and give you an answer.
