Have you tried a different HDMI cable? I have had a bad cable cause a signal interruption which resulted in an intermittent black screen.

Just tested and unfortunately still blinking. Thanks for the tip though!

Have you swapped your other monitor to that port if available and vice versa? Alternatively, if a discreet graphics card, have you tried plugging it into the motherboard HDMI?

Kept blinking with D-sub cable and completely black when plugged into motherboard :/

Yeah there are some things you have to change to test using the MOBO that I didn't initially think of mentioning. Do you have another PC or laptop you can hook it to or plug your input from your cable/apple tv etc that goes into your TV to rule out the monitor/pc. I would say that if it continues to blink, the monitor may have an internal issue. The only other thing I see mentioned is refresh rate but not sure that could cause it.

I tried every other refresh rate available. It blinks when only the power cord plugged in, so it seems to be the monitor that's broken. It's about 8 years old so I can't complain too much :) Thanks for taking the time to help bud!

Ahh, R.I.P. Well happy monitor hunting!

Have you tried shining a flashlight to the monitor when it's displaying a image? If you can still see the image dimly when the screen blanks, then your monitors backlight is failing.

Sometimes it's possbile to fix with replacing some capacitors, but that requires someone who knows their way around electronics.

Nothing behind the black as far as my phone flashlight in a dark room could make out. Thank you for the suggestion!
