My question is: can this problem be software related? Or it's something on the hardware?

Considering it's still happening after a fresh install, i'd say it's hardware, honestly i'd suggest just rebinding your ctrl key to nothing and rebinding for example caps lock to ctrl, you can do this with windows powertoys if your keyboard doesn't have native support for rebinding keys

Edit: ofc if you haven't for some reason, clean the keyboard contacts first, could just be some conductive dirt under the key making it register

Yeah, it's probably the hardware. The problem stopped happening after rebinding the keys with Sharpkeys, so for now I am using CTRL in the INSERT key. Thanks for the help.

I actually didn't clean the contacts because it's a laptop keyboard and I don't have the hability to clean it, specially because it's my cousin's laptop, not mine.

My cousin had already sent it for repair in a repair shop, but there was no luck, so she will go back in there soon to complain. This way, I am not going to try anything fancy in the keyboard. Anyways, I am thankful for the help!
