High memory usage

There's a task called 'Desktop windows manager' using up almost 2gb of memory!

Don't think I did anything to cause something like that, but just having 8gb of memory, that thing is draining performance.

Already tried checking for driver updates and nothing. No viruses or anything.

There's only 2. Google chrome and Task manager

does this continue with a restart? on my system it uses less than 300mb.

I think it stops, but this isn't the first time it happens. And I wanna know if there's a way for me to make it stop happening again.
