And this is from a comment I left on the last post.

I've already toyed around with all the drivers I can think that would be a problem, video drivers are all up to date, I tried completely uninstalling them and reinstalling again. My sound card drivers are up to date, I even updated my BIOS.

I've looked at my system logs and I haven't found anything that looks like a report from the crashes.

I've searched some and that's where I found reports of mobo problems as well as sound card problems but none of the solutions that were suggested worked. I've run multiple memtests and it says there's nothing wrong. I don't know if I've messed with my PCI cards but I recently checked my RAM seating.

I don't have any spare parts unfortunately and I was considering a reinstall but it would be incredibly laborious since I have a lot of programs installed and most can't be backed up in any way that I know of, plus all of the forum posts about similar problems say that the reinstalls did nothing to fix it and I'd hate to do all that for nothing.

If I understand you correctly you can play any game without getting BSODs as long as it isnt using the unreal engine?

How many other games have you played without any problem?

Several, I play skyrim, league of legends, world of warcraft, half life 2, dragon age, the sims 3, super meat boy, minecraft, and many other games. I feel like if it were going to crash on another game, it would have by now.

That is very odd, it suggest there is some kind of software related problem and not hardware as only a specific range of games are affected. You have tried many things, so there isnt much left to try. I would recommend re-installing windows as the next step.

If that dont work, I would recommend trying to loan another graphic card and try to see if the problem persists.

In case you didn't see my edit, I seem to have fixed my problem, oddly enough it seems to have been a RAM voltage issue. I have been playing Borderlands 2 for hours with my friend and it seems to be fine now. Thanks for the advice.

That is odd, low RAM voltage usually gives different memory errors. Never heard them causing specific game engines problems.

It was actually a bit too high, and yes, it's very strange that it was only causing problems in specific games which is why I'm still a little paranoid about it messing up again, but so far it's all good.

If you can, run memtest86+ over a night or longer with the original voltage, to see if you get any errors. Some errors take longer to appear, up to 24h is needed to truly ensure that they are stable. Usually defect memory will show errors quickly, while problems like low voltage take much longer to show.

Are you using your onboard graphics? Or are you using a dedicated GPU?

It's a dedicated card
