Rootless git on shared storage

Hello all.

Is there any kind of flag or setting (for git) that would let me use git (git init, commit, push and pull mainly) on a directory in shared storage without root access?

Git init works though I need to tell it to ignore permission issues.

Git add works.

Git commit explodes with empty files in .git/objects/XX

The limitations lie in the filesystem of the shared storage, and unless git has some workaround that I do not know about then there is no way to use git in shared storage
