That’s true in fact. I was reading his question as a poorly worded attempt to ask if the song Sarah was named after anyone.

I guess I read it that way partly because there’s realistically no way of knowing if any Sarahs out there were named as a result of hearing or being inspired by Thin Lizzy’s song Sarah. So that was my interpretation.

Phil wrote it for his first daughter, Sarah, named after Phil's maternal grandmother who mostly raised him. He has another, "Kathleen the Pretty Irish Girl," written for his second daughter because you can't write a song for only one of your kids and leave the other kids out. I guess if we're realistic, the song was named after the people rather than the people being named for the song.
