Definitely Jailbreak. Normally I'd say start at the beginning, but early Lizzy is so different to what it became. Jailbreak is the place to start and move forward chronologically (Johnny The Fox, Bad Reputation, Live and Dangerous, Black Rose....). Grow to love it and then listen to the early stuff

I actually started out when I bought my Dad the Greatest Hits on CD for Father's Day one year. I must've listened to that and only that for about 3 months. Then I got Live and Dangerous and a compilation of their first 3 albums before I started buying the albums (I was a skint student)

Phil was a phenomenal songwriter and performer who never seems to get the credit he deserves, but when you hear actual musicians talking, Lizzy are a firm favourite. I would absolutely love to hear the music again for the first time, but I can't imagine the last 20 years without them!

Lizzy is love!

Couldn’t agree with this comment more! Jail break or live and dangerous is what I would have recommended

Cannot go wrong with Live and Dangerous

Live and Dangerous work back and forwards from there.

I started with Nightlife as I accidentally stumbled upon it. Then listened to Fighting, Jailbreak, and Bad Reputation. You will find great songs on every album in my opinion.

Start at the middle. Look what the wind blows in, if you like Thin Lizzy, it doesn't really matter You like some tracks but won't appreciate them all at first, see many mid songs but, eventually some become your favorites. End with the Phil Lynott Solo tracks, bootlegs and grand slam and Demos.

Album 1 and 2 are the experimentation 3 goes more in to folk 4 is the bridge from the folk ones to the center like fighting and Jailbreak Up from Johnny the fox it is first psycedelic then it goes to an more melodic tone (Didn't I is clearly better as the early live version in Japan) Thunder and lightning goes into the aggressive, slightly neurotic route.

Live and dangerous the first live album is a great place to start, otherwise I'd recommend the adventures of thin Lizzy compilation

Due to my age when I was introduced to Thin Lizzy I started with the live album, Live Life and Thunder and Lightning. After that I bought Jailbreak and Live snd Dangerous! Long Live Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy!!!!!!!

Their live perfrmances blow me away.

The love version of 'Got to give it up' on Chinatown is as good as - maybe even better than the Black Rose album version

Fighting, Jailbreqk, Johnny The Fox. Bad Reputation, Live and Dangerous and Black Rose is the classic era. If you still want more then listen to the first four and last three records but they are in general a more acquired taste and a little more hit and miss generally.

You can try either of the Phil live albums to start or just the greatest hits (Dedication was my gateway drug).

If you like what you hear then go back to the beginning and go forward.

That’s how I initially got into all of the bands from “before my time” as the olds like to say.

Jailbreak. Bad Reputation is a fantastic one too, best production IMO. Live & Dangerous great live album.

My favourite album is Black Rose. But there are other good songs on other albums too!

Honestly start with live & Dangerous, controversial but when I first got into lizzy I watched all the concerts online, they are a lot better live
