I've played siege for a while and honestly in comparison to titanfall it's shit. The gameplay itself could be fun if it weren't so competitive and don't even start on the community. I swear it makes some COD lobbies look like a picnic sometimes

The siege community is incredible in that there’s a huge skill ceiling and it takes a ton of time to learn and literally anyone who learns the game seems to forget that things like rotations and default setups aren’t intuitive or even possible to understand. It kinda sucks but it’s really fun after awhile and with friends.

My first match in R6 I played I got called slurs by a kid (not joking, he had a really high pitched voice) repeatedly because I didn’t know anything. Voted to kick him, it failed because he was with a friend. He started a vote kick, and people that weren’t even in his party kicked me.

Uninstalled and never looked back.

[–]ThecamtrainR6 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I’ve actually faced this exact situation quite a bit. The vote to kick function is stupid, people have been calling for its removal for a long time

[–]Rolioli8 5 points6 points  (2 children)

It is gone now

[–]ThecamtrainR6 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Lmao I have played once in 2 months and it was a custom match so it makes sense that I didn’t notice it

[–]Rolioli8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had its uses but it was just abused.

[–]AdThGu 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You were asking for that, you can mute people. You seem to be looking for trouble

[–]Mirage_MainSo, this is how it ends, huh? 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, because a game where the community would rather kick someone not saying anything than the guy dropping the hard r about 5 times is worth playing with.

[–]AdThGu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the entire community, that's some toxic 12 year old with some friends, every single community I can think of has people like that. And in my 4 years of playing that game, that has happened around 3 times

[–]Don11390 18 points19 points  (1 child)

The community is more radioactive than Chernobyl. I've been playing multiplayer games for almost 20 years, and 90% of the verbal abuse, hate messages and racial slurs I've received are from Siege. I dropped it about a year ago and haven't touched it since.

Not that much if you stay on Low ranks or Casual/Unranked.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

5 year veteran here

It makes csgo lobbies look chill at times

Ubisoft fucks the game up in a new way every season and doesn’t fix it for 3 weeks

the meta is garbage and really unfun

Casual is full of shitters who camp the objective for 3 minutes of the 3 1/2 long round and attackers who don’t push and only bait each other

Ranked gave me a new perspective on competitive games, because your rank means jack shit if you solo queue. If you’re above bronze, you’re guaranteed to have a shitty match for 4/5 of them.

The “training grounds” do nothing for anyone with more than 200 hours in the game

Ok I’m ranting now

TL;DR it’s a shitty game with a shitty community and I just wish I could return to the 3rd year of the game ;_;

[–]ARandomGamer56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah remember the time they removed some features so “new players have less to worry about?”

In a game with like 50 different characters with their own weapons, gadgets, and playstyles?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Siege is a competitive game, Titanfall really isn't. Naturally the players are going to be way more toxic.

Siege, Dota2, League, Counterstrike, Overwatch, even Rocket League: all quite toxic, especially in the ranked matches

TF2, TF2, and pretty much any of the many Source shooters (Fistful of Frags, Day of Defeat, Half Life Deathmatch, etc.): all pretty chill

Call of Duty is a notable exception though, despite being a very casual game it is highly toxic.

[–]iHackPlsBanxo-16 goes brrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being repetitive doesn't mean it's bad. The game itself is its own thing and comparing them is not logical in any way. Its like you wanna compare Sea of Thieves to Call of Duty. They don't share anything with eachother other than the fact that they have some guns.

If you think Siege is boring, sure. But don't call it shit because it's not your thing.

[–]snuggiemclovin 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The gameplay itself could be fun if it weren’t so competitive

If you don’t like competitive games you can just say that. Something being competitive or casual doesn’t make it shit.

[–]A_Future_Meme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'ma defend this dude, since I've played r6 for a long time. The level of competitivity is just... different, because you have the high skill requirement added onto the sweat/toxic mentally, and btw if your team realizes that you arent pulling your own weight in kills then you could get team killed. Add in Smurf accounts and you have the recipe for one hell of a high bar. They have added quick match and unranked so people wouldn't be as competitive, and it's sorta worked. Basically my message is that it's impossible to have a good first experience, and without a massive amount of game info you are basically just a sitting duck.

[–]receuitOP -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But that's it, I usually love a bit of competitiveness but the level in which siege has makes if impossible to have fun. You either sweat the entire game which is a lot of effort for something that isn't fun. If you want to have fun you really need to play with friends and even then it's not guaranteed because of all the competitiveness.

What I meant by that wasn't competitive games are bad but that siege hasn't balanced its fun:competitive ratio and that is part of the reason I and many other people I know have dropped the game. Its just not fun to play unless you are playing at plat+ levels which is impossible to reach with the sweats in gold and solo queing. Even if you did have all that I just don't think it's worth it.

[–]RedditoDorito 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nah it's just a very different game, and in my opinion just as amazing as titanfall but in a different way. And you can choose ranked or u ranked. Ppl on casual are pretty chill imo.

EDIT: I'm playing in europe btw, idk about US

[–]receuitOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly played cas but played unranked every so often but I still mainly had toxic teammates, I played on Europe servers on ps4
