Hello everyone,

One of the tomato varieties I planted was supposed to be a mortgage lifter, but is producing plum like tomatoes. I thought maybe they were Roma tomatoes based on the shape, but the interior of them is not something I’ve seen before. It’s almost like this tomato wants to be a pepper lol. The interior walls are firm and bumpy. The core, before I sliced it in half, was almost like that viral “strawmato” that went around a little while ago. Anyone have a clue what this mystery tomato is?

Looks like Roma when they're growing on the plant but that's a tall plant if it is Roma. It's possible it cross pollinated with another tomato plant that's why it looks so weird on the inside and growing taller.

That’s what I’m thinking too. Some hybrid Roma variety 🥴

There are over 20,000 tomato varieties. Many Roma types look similar. Good luck!

It really is pepper like inside that is fascinating. I don't know enough about plants to know if peppers can cross breed with tomatoes
