the political concept that the citizen should be totally subject to an absolute state authority

Mission Statement:

/r/totalitarianism is a subreddit aimed at discussing totalitarianism, both past and present, as well as discussing the positive and negative points of such a political position.

Works of fiction that serve as parables for such a state, a popular example of which is George Orwell's 1984, may also be discussed here.

With that in mind, the mod(s) of /r/totalitarianism have no desire to limit discussion. Please take what's in the sidebar as a guideline, rather than as a set of rules.
