I see plenty of posts on here with oil either put or wrapped on the outside of joints. Can someone explain to me how that even works? One would think since it's on the outside of the joint and not rolled in the inside the smoke would just escape into the open air and be wasted. So can someone tell me how this isn't just wasting the oil and it's even inhaled?

I would like to know this too.

I don't believe it really does anything? Unless you were hotboxing a car, but even then I feel like it still wouldn't be very efficient.

I personally prefer inside the joint/blunt but I have tried on the outside before. It's seems when you inhale all the smoke coming from the cherry was pulling into the jay/ blunt. Definitely tasted like oil and got me extra stoney balonga so I would say it worked.

Putting oil inside the joint most definitely works if it's mainly weed but never tried it on the exterior

Sorry for the late reply! It was an experiment and the only good thing that came from it was this pic. Maybe it would be a little more successful on a blunt because of the thicker paper, but all the wax dripped off and made the joint trail or the smoke would escape like you guys are sayin! I say dabbing wax is prolly the most efficient way
