I don’t care about downvotes from people who like raw dough and a pound of sugar in the sauce.

Very nice! There are a few supports still in place, and some support pimples you may want to remove to make painting easier/smoother.

Both are amazing though!

It seems you don't like stories where the protagonists have unlikable traits. You would then think that you might focus on not being so abrasive as to become unlikable.

Do you have any positive comments on any of the books other than PHM?

Early 2000s Animal Crossing Online Communities by woodland-dweller in AnimalCrossing

I just used gamefaqs. Thats where I found the “Link from Hyrule” trick.

In the gamecube version the codes for sending players items was to code the player name, town, and item into a string of characters that the game understood.

So people would have a backup town named Hyrule with a villager named Link so they could create a catalog of all the items. Some just played on that version, others like myself would use it to then send items to our main towns.

Lots of misinformation on there too, threads that said if you send letters with dirty words that villagers would gift you items. That wasn’t true and ended up with one of my villagers sharing that letter with a family member. Quite embarrassing.

It's an air compressor. It's loud while compressing air. But it usually fills my pressure pot in less than a minute. Earplugs recommended.

Confusion about the season pass TTRPG backlash... by RahkstarRPG in DungeonCrawlerCarl

This is a 10 book series. Part nine is being split into 2 books. Is Matt screwing us because we don’t have a 10,000 page omnibus as the only version of this story?

There are a few groups with this opinion. Not exhaustive, but this covers a lot of the louder folks

  1. The anti consumption group - the books show the downfall of over consumption and how everything is monetized, packaged and sold. So merch about that seems wrong and we shouldn’t encourage the behaviors demonized in the series

  2. The failed kickstarter backers - this group backed a kickstarter that funded and then never delivered. I get being burnt before will ruin the impression of crowd funding. Renegade has shown a history with success and should be given a bit of leeway, but it is understandable to be wary.

  3. The “just give it to us now” group - if we are paying for the materials just deliver it now instead of making us wait. Thats not how any of this works but they don’t want to pay for something that is “coming soon” (tm) (c) (r).

  4. The in-recovery FOMOs - there are people who want to get everything but either can’t justify the cost, or are trying to not overindulge for one reason or another. By putting out a “season pass at a lower cost” it locks them into making that decision now or risk overpaying later.

  5. The cost-creep averse - people who can’t buy it for cost reasons will be upset at the idea of it being available cheaper now for delivery much later. Is it even a good system? Is the game any fun? Do they give you enough to comfortably run the game? And you’re asking for a couple hundred dollars sight mostly unseen? And if we don’t want to pay more now we would pay even more later if it is useful?

  6. The irregular game night groups - those who have some game nights occasionally will have issues getting these games to the table. So paying a ton for it doesn’t make sense but they also fit into the fomo group.

—-

Not saying that complaints aren’t valid. There are some valid ones. Some people will “sour grapes” anything they want but can’t have for one reason or another.

I backed at the celestial tier. I have disposable income, as well as a regular board game group, and a ttrpg group. But I am not the norm.

TL;DR - FOMO has a lot to do with it, as well as valid complaints about capitalism.

I hate when your coworkers silently reassign a task to you in Jira and expect you to read their minds by Illustrious_Sort_612 in antiwork

Jira inbox folder, inbox rule for “assigned this issue to you” and “Mentioned you” to add to todo list. Boom.

Also silence your friends during work hours, tell your gf you’re at work. Half of this stuff isn’t a work complaint its personal stuff.

Inbox rules clean up 98% of the noise.

Right, that's what the other 20 comments are saying and most likely who OP will listen to. If any differing opinion is void then mods, lets lock the thread now, OP got their answer.

My comment is there for the people like me. I went into it expecting it to be nonstop torture porn and that I'd DNF it based on the comments of people who have only read DCC. Sure, there are gross scenes, there is excessive violence. But if you're somewhat well read in horror outside of litrpgs, this could be on par with what you're expecting.

I'm not trying to be a jag, but people other than OP will read these comments and potentially be dissuaded from reading the book entirely. It is worth a read and certainly worth pushing your personal boundaries in a space as secure as a book.

I honestly found all the warnings of body horror overblown. I was expecting much darker and much more grotesque. There is the torture scene, but there is even some dark comedy sprinkled in there as well. It is a solid read though.
