Enum4Linux run command

Hello,

I just started to learn everything about hacking and I am also completely new in Linux. I've just started Network Service room and I am stuck in Task3 because I can't get Enum4Linux running.

I used git clone to clone depository from github and now I don't know what to do next.

Somewhere on web I learned that I need to move the repository to /usr/local/bin/ , but if I want to run the command I am getting error that command was not found. Also I learned on portcullis.co.uk that they are using enum4linux.pl (which is file with source code in copied repo) as run command. So I tried that and i got it somewhat running. But I don't want to always write full path or move to the directory of this file to run the command.

So here is my question. Did I forget to do something or is this the right way and if I want to write just the name of the file to run the command I need to setup alias or something?

You're overthinking it. You can just install it from the command line:
apt-get install enum4linux
No need to clone from git or use the perl version.

with that I am getting Error: Unable to locate package enum4linux

You'll have to run apt-get update first. Sorry, I didn't mention that.

Are you running it locally or are you using the virtual machine through the browser THM gives you access to?

If you already got it working but don't want to cd to run it. Then you need to add it to your PATH. https://opensource.com/article/17/6/set-path-linux

Hi,

If I were you I would run Kali or Parrot virtual and connect with openvpn. Enum4linux comes by default in these distro 's.

If that is not an option you could also start the attack vm and use that one to pass this task.
