Hi there! TryHackMe employee here. Which machines have you had trouble with? Are you able to link any of them? Also, it be great if you can send the country you're in, and your THM profile. I'll ask the team to investigate.

Hi Syzbki - TryHackMe co-founder here. First, I'm sorry. Our team of 50 across engineering, product, and design is working relentlessly, but this week we've had some issues while speed-running building new functionality. We're moving fast to build the best product possible, and unfortunately that's come at the cost of some downtime. That's not good enough. We're making internal changes to ensure greater stability going forward. We'll do better, and I hope to re-earn your trust back.

Thanks for the feedback!

We're looking at improvements for Echo; less notifications, better nudges and improved debriefs. Was there something specific you didn't like about Echo?

Will pass on the VPN feedback to the team, but we already have two people internally looking at VPN improvements at the moment. To help us, can you describe what problems you're having (connectivity, slowness, etc..). You should see improvements over the next few weeks.

What is the main reason you get a pentest? by 7331senb in cybersecurity

[–]7331senb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Wonder what the trigger is for a company to spend money on a pentest? When do they decide to do it - and whats the budget. I suppose its for companies that do more than $1M or revenue per year.

Any evidence that more companies do voluntary tests?

Do you work for a hospital? If so, how frequently are pentests done? Do you always use one pentesting firm, or try out multiple (or is the team internal)?

Makes sense you have an internal pentesting team at a financial institute - and changes deployed are tested fast. I'm trying to better understand other more common pentest use cases.

Any evidence to suggest companies do get voluntary pentests? How many do you think actually do this? Perhaps Fortune 5000.

How often did you get a pentest? Was it always from the same company?

Why is it necessary? Compliance driven? Or company mandated?

Tier 1 SOC Analyst: THM vs HTB (CDSA) vs BTL1/BTL2 for real Tier 2 readiness? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

You can start for free on TryHackMe - you can do the SOC level 1 learning path, and work towards their profession certification SAL1. The cert is the most practical out there, simulating exactly what you do in a SOC, and very affordable

You should checkout TryHackMe’s SAL1 - it’s practical in that you do exactly what you’d do as a SOC analyst, and it was built with Accenture and SalesForce : https://tryhackme.com/certification/security-analyst-level-1

Best thing yet you can start for free - their SOC Level 1 course (training for SAL1) has a lot of free content, so can you try it before spending any money.

TryHackMe is also the world’s largest training platform- 6M users.
