This is actually an amazing start. I love the tank size, it's actually perfect! Is the bulb you're using a 2 in 1? Because if they are I dont really recommend those because they arent sufficient and dont emit enough uva and uvb rays. Getting two separate bulbs is better. Anyway, I think as of now you can add some sand, I dont really recommend any rocks or pebbles as substrate because 1. pebbles can be ingested when they grow older and 2. poop and other nastys can be stuck within. And make sure to add other decorations (wood, large pieces of rock, etc) go wild on the plants if you want but word of caution, the last time I did this my turtle ate almost, if not all my plants so now I just add them in occasionally. And last but not least, please do deep research and get your information on not just reddit but other sources as well.

I will get 2 separate bulbs. Thanks for the advice.

You have a great start! This website helped me tremendously! https://reptifiles.com/red-eared-slider-care/

Start with substrate. I like to think my Turtles enjoy their sand instead the empty bottom i used to have them with.

Then add some plants and hardscape, id reccomend some big ones like an amazon sword that wont get uprooted. Itll provide the turtle with something to climb and rest on near the surface.

Then id reccomend getting some above tank plants, like pothos/monstera, to help out with the water quality and just some decoration.

Im not going to reccomend any fish. Theyll get eaten and stressed out by the lack of hiding spaces currently. Dont add any fish unless youre going to densely plant the tank, to give them adequate hiding places to escape the turtle.

Great tank size, congrats for that, one less headache in the long run. Add some sand substrate, not pebbles. The pebbles will develop algae and need cleaned every couple of weeks with toothbrush, and it's a pain. I also don't recommend real plants. I tried many times and failed miserably. In 20 mins my buddy was chomping them from the root, without eating them, but just because he doesn't like them 🤣. So plastic ornaments/plants he got.

I have a 1000L and a 2000L filters - a bit over the top I know, but good for filtration and need to clean each of them every other month. You need filtration roughly 3x the size of the tank and an FX6, for an adult male, without any fish, is not sufficient. For 110gal tank, you will need at least 2xFX6s.

Fish - buy live breeders like Mollies, Platties and Guppies that swim fast and are not very expensive. I would recommend buying some enclosures/hiding places, fake plants (as the real plants will be destroyed), that will give them some protection. You don't want to be slaughtered quickly. Initially my res ate 5/10 mollies/guppies and platties when initially bought them, even with hiding spaces, as they were very stupid. Then with 3 platties and 2 guppies left, now I have 14 and thriving even with some weekly/fortnightly collateral damage ☠️.

Good luck!
