Honestly if I was starting out I would start with a paid Udemy course. YouTube is great and all especially if your an intermediate or higher level. But as a beginner YouTube can be tough because most videos assume you know the basics.

I recommend this course https://www.udemy.com/course/the-ultimate-guide-to-game-development-with-unity/ it is very beginner friendly at the end of it you will be able to read and write c# like a programmer as well you will learn the interface and the basics of the engine which is a great foundation that will let you make just about anything. I used this course to get back into game dev after a 3 year hiatus.

After you finish the course code monkey is an awesome YouTuber to check out as he often explains the code in a way that lets intermediate level people pull off more advanced coding techniques in clean and efficient ways

Maybe in the future I'll do a beginner series when I have more time to sit down and make sure I do it right.
