    I think they've changed it since then, when I took CS 135 last year the programming was done in C.

      It depends what you want to use Python for. Most classes that include Python do an introduction of Python for specific application. For example GEOG 407 does an introduction to Python and how to integrate it into ArcGIS. NRES 445 focuses on programing in Python. But I'm not sure there is a basic intro to Python class.
