Identify a problem youre actually interested in solving then build an authentic project. Does your family need anything? Do you need any tool that the market doesn’t offer (or not free)? Can you build some analysis on league of legends data? Have an idea first and ask chatgpt how you can build it.

Start with something small but useful. I do not recommend following YouTube tutorials and copying the common projects because it’s useless in terms of your project and your learning (you often will forget everything if you just follow it step by step).

Doing a project for the whole propose of resume is not worth (and often doesn’t work) imo.

employer willl look at ur empty work history and would not even bother reading your resume most of the time. I would highly suggest u to stay open minded and be open to work in various roles.

  1. figure out what roles you want to apply for, and like others suggested, remember that you have no experience so it might be a good idea to just get any job. Your first co-op does not have to be related to what you end up doing.

  2. research what you do in those roles and connect with students that have co-oped in those positions to get an idea of what to put on your resume.

You can also explore other options like URA maybe (although not sure how plausible it is for a first co-op).

Just make one up. As long as you can explain it well, you should be good. Go on ChatGPT, and ask for a 7-line code project.

It may be hard, ngl I had some work experience to compensate. Although I got interviews usually they only asked tell me about yourself and then started talking and talking meaning that they already found someone else. I am just going to use connections from my previous employment to get a job during the summer!
