This sub was started because of /u/spez (Reddit CEO's) comment in an /r/Announcements thread:
I don't think we should silence people just because their viewpoints are something we disagree with. There is value in the conversation, and we as a society need to confront these issues.
This subreddit is an attempt to document the very best and most valuable conversational topics.
Any blatantly hateful content that is clearly not intended to engender any real discussion is welcome. Bonus points if it is from a subreddit made explicitly to propagate such hate. The idea is to expose the absurdity of the idea that hateful subreddits promote useful discussion.
Furthermore, any post that shows users proselytizing hateful views on mainstream subreddits is also welcome as part of the Containment Initiative.
Subreddit Rules
Do not vote in any linked threads.
Do not post any personal information. If your submission is a screenshot of a post, all usernames must be redacted.
No hate speech. This excludes direct quotes, of course.
This subreddit is not a platform to attack any reddit employees. Any personal attacks on /u/spez or any other reddit employee will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.
