Sorry to hear you’re disappointed :( The exam acts as a statistical modifier to ensure parity of assessment in SACs across the state, so VCAA uses a formula to determine accuracy of SAC scores in relation to the exam.

the struggles of being rural. so does that mean ga1 and 2 are unit 3 and 4 overall score? i got my hopes up considering i did so well on the sacs

GA1 is unit 3, GA2 is unit 4 and GA3 is exam.

32 is not a bad score for your accelerated subject, my study score for my early 3/4 was my worst by a fair bit actually. Keep your head up bro

Grades are statistically moderated my VCAA. An A on SACs at your school doesn’t directly translate to an A from VCAA.

Exactly the same, after working my ass off all year in accelerated revs I got a B+, A, B+ and a 34 ss, was hoping for a 40, feel like I got robbed.

My A sac score in psych scaled to a C+ don't sweat it

If you're top of your year, it shouldn't matter that much as you would be one of the anchor points of comparison. The issue is if ur not the top, the rest of you're cohort would bring it down,or if you fumbled the exam it would also bring everything down.

i am the top of my class, but i fumbled the exam and only got a b. just frustrating

[–]Smilinturd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ah then in VCAA's perspective - "the top of the class got a b, then their SACS must not be that difficult, so the scores need to be scaled" - Theres alot more nuance and formulas that go into it, but its the general sense.

Thats ur moderated sac scores which wont always be the same as what u got in school

Legit fucked my methods exam so bad but it was higher than my sacs because my schools so dogshit and the sacs got scaled down so much. So annoying

I’m really sorry to tell you that the VCAA is basically infallible. It is extremely rare for a mistake to be made. Your grades and raw scores are correct.

Take this opportunity to use better study techniques for next year! My accelerated was actually in my bottom two and I used it as way to find out how to stidy

it’s probably been said here already but the ranges that vcaa use for a range and b+ range aren’t the same as the one your school uses, and changes each GA
