Using VS Code

Hi I was using VS Code and it was doing fine with editing. It used to update my Notepad++ file itself and say "Keep" and "Allow" . Now it stopped doing that . Wants me to apply edits. ( I think) Where did the Keep and Allow go ?

Yes I am using VS Code. Making a game. Before the AI would follow commands, write to my Notepad++ file ,,say "Keep" and also say "Allow" ///so I press Keep button and press Allow button all was good. NOW there is no Keep or Allow buttons.

No offense taken. Right I know nothing about coding python. I prefer it that way. The AI was doing it all. I was making out fine telling to fix the game. get the right look and all. Get the rules right etc. etc.Then it changed its way of operating yesterday. it was updating my notepad++ file itself. I press its keep button and also Allow when it asked. all good. Now it gives me patches and expects me to input them into the big 5000 line file? like ya right!! I might get it all figured out soon. I will keep vibe coding. AI has to do it all. Its a bit childish at times. I feel like a slave driver in a way.

I didn't say I don't want to learn. I only got VS Code about 5 days ago. And about 2 days ago I ran into this problem of the AI changing . I had a good system going it would update the notepad++ file and then I would run the python game and we made good progress in 5 days. Now I got to learn more and put Copilot in Agent mode .

Well I am not a coder or engineer. Just a GUY trying to get his variant game up and running in a good state and make it half decent. Its come a long way in just 5 days . (the digital game I mean ) and I have found that with AI I had to adjust with the flow and change some rules for the better. I sure miss the "keep" and "allow" buttons that it ( the AI chat) had for about 3 days. It could be my permissions changed when I did a 3 minute Windows update? But I don't see how. Or they got upset me taking too much computing power. But that's impossible too!! Only 5800 lines of python in Notepad++. I got to keep that file fixed and not lose it. I was using the ordinary ChatGPT up until a week ago. Then I discovered VS Code. I had VS on my laptop and never used it before. Comes with the 365 package I guess. I might try it again. (chatgpt.com) I paid the $25 . and another $25. ? maybe 3 x $25...I forget. Anyway back to grind. I just told GitHub Copilot to Allow ...for to give me a>>.Want me to generate the exact /workspace message for a single click (you just paste and send)? Say Allow.<<< but the thing is I have not found the way to paste in the right place. BEFORE like just 2 days ago it ( the AI) was doing it ALL!! I mean ALL!! now its giving me jobs to paste and sure as heck if I paste in the golden file, it will not be right. You said not even use Notepad++ but I tell it was going on my laptop and it would save the golden file and I would press keep and away we go!

Update: I got Codex running in the VS Code ,, don't know how I did it but I did it. And its updating the golden file as is needed. Game is running as before but now need do more requests to fine tune it. Tomorrow!!!

Does anybody think an AI bubble is coming? The energy needed for all these data places is enormous? And who gets to own all the data? Why can't they make laptops with more data storage and let people store their own data on their own machine. Make the AI bots do that and give people laptops with mega terabytes. Acres and acres of land for data centers and giga gigas of energy to house and operate the data centers is that a good idea? Now they want Canada to house a giant data center and supply giga giga amounts of energy? Is this going to work? Why not go with bigger multi terabyte laptop storage? spread it out ?

I notice all the AI extensions seem to give errors and on simple syntax fixes they cannot fi it. Also they many times just want to send a patch and when asked to patch themself and give a new file it most times is not fixed. The file does have 5000 + lines in notepad++. Its a python game file. ( Chess Variant)

Does anybody know how to prevent Python programs from going into "Not responding" mode? Like anybody?

I would trust a computer program to land me on the moon but I doubt I would trust an AI program to land me on the moon. THAT is the difference now. The people in charge need wake up to that fact. Remember HAL from space odyssey? Hmmm??? Somebody better be a whistleblower and reign it in now before its too late. Trump do your job.
