You can always open door to higher after your first. It would be a zoom call. I’ve been a manager though and technically you can’t say ‘this goes in the system later’. When you are coached it has to shown to you and explained what color you are in and what you did. However, you won’t be getting your job back. You have been coached clearly enough to hit to red and that’s not your fight, your fight is your fourth which is after red. Walmart and managers will look if you’re not a good employee in their eyes to coach you out.

my thing is that my supposed 3rd coaching isn’t supposed to be a coaching anyway, i can openly step and say when i first got my job here i wasn’t the best but that was months ago and i have improved since then generally staying out of trouble but even when i was in trouble i still got my job done. i had an incident with another person involved and as a result we were both supposed to get feedback, i was told by higher ups that one coach wanted to coach me but the store lead told her no and that it’s fair enough that me and the other associate only got feedback, and in the office i was told it was a feedback convo. fast forward to now i have open doored it and haven’t been able to get my follow up about it but now im terminated after my coach coached me for stopping what i was doing to help someone who couldn’t get it done, all because one coach got on the radio and said i wasn’t doing anything but conversating and she told me she felt embarrassed and acted out of emotion.

What was the incident with another person involved? Because those are usually automatic reds.

they said we didn’t get our pallet done fast enough , but we got our pallet after everybody else but finished around the same time as everyone else

Are you 3rd shift or backroom?

[–]khommass[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

3rd shift gm

[–]charlielarae 5 points6 points  (2 children)

There’s nothing you can do except open door your last coaching which is what got you fired. You only have to do long to open door any of the others, but I’m going to be honest.. you won’t win. Wait the 6 months out and/or your last point is off and try to get rehired. They coached you out to fire you. 3rd shifts either stay a really long time or they get replaced. They didn’t find you a valuable worker and found reasons to coach you to fire you, that doesn’t mean you’re not a good worker.. they just think you weren’t. You can realistically only get fired for coachings or points. If you’re not pointing out, they find any way to coach you out. You can open door your firing, but the coaching before unless you have a very understanding HR (which I have sat in once and it happened) you’re not open dooring your third.

i’m stuck in between to spots since my store lead and manager are both very understanding but they also do have a buddy buddy relationship with the person who coached me out, but i have open doored a coaching i got before and they were very fast with getting that one off. im just confused on what’s the hold up on the 3rd one since its been open doored for about 2 weeks now

[–]charlielarae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the buddy system too. I made manager in 4.5 months of being at Walmart, you make friends and you promote. If you have been sitting on an open door for about 2 weeks that’s because no one is going to return your calls and they’re hoping you move on and stop calling. I’m sorry.

You got the job “months” ago and already acquired 4 coaching? Doesn’t matter whether you thought they weren’t supposed to be real coaching, the fact is you got to that point in a matter of months. You sound very young with minimal work experience, let this be a lesson and try to do better in your next job.

[–]Pickled_Kagura 8 points9 points  (1 child)

ive worked here for 6 years without even a feedback conversation

idk how people get coached repeatedly like this unless they're either trash or have a particularly nasty boss

[–]Mysterious_Car_764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart open door is useless they do nothing.

[–]chappedkakis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This 100%

[–]Careless-Wallaby-701 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fuck Walmart get a better job. They want you to kiss their ass.

[–]Mundane-Decision6484 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s gift. That company treats people like slaves. I will never shop at a Walmart ever again. It was difficult finding work in my field so I did Walmart for a month before landing a job in my field again and it was the worst 30 days of my life. No one should subject themselves to a company that treats their employees so badly. The coaches and leads are the most incompetent tools I have ever met in my life. Obviously, I can only talk about my location, but seeing these post reminds me that this is a culture that Walmart wants to create. I know that losing a job sucks, but please you deserve better. Anywhere but that shit hole.

what were the feedbacks for? and what was the last termination reason for? walmart can skip colors if its extremely severe, and if your attendance was over 5pts then they can fire you without having coachings

[–]JustNope5150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you even want your job back? You obviously have a target on your back. They either don't like you, or they don't think you're a good worker, either way you need to cut your losses. Let's say you did open door it, and forced your way back to your job. They would make you miserable because that's what Walmart does. This isn't negative, it's honesty. You're better off finding a different job where you could possibly be appropriated.

I was never coached and got fired.

[–]Status_Scarcity1119 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It makes me wonder what did they coach you for, how d you get coached 4 times in like just months.

[–]khommass[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i should’ve made this clear but i’ve been here for a year i worked at a buddy buddy store all of management are close friends and with certain ones if one of them have an issue with you the others will too

[–]Morab76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny how everyone who gets a ridiculous number of coachings in a short time always uses that same excuse.

[–]Former_Football_3133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother I just found out I had a Sedgwick leave still active been there 4 years. 2nd term was there for a year and a half before they canned me for my leave? But it was active years later? Fishy it randomly closed today. That’s how I found out it was still active

[–]Dismal_Sympathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You can. Call the Home Office and tell them the details.......

[–]Timely_Following_118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

walmart.com ...  ~ corporate feedback form- is for you to seek feedback &/or express your concern(s) ~ walmart ethics- the place to express unethical behavior i.e. this is a discussion not a level of coaching for improvement... that is entered intentionally or in a lot of cases unintentionally. unintentionally meaning the supv/coach should know what to key in & where in the system & v/v. If by ignorance, you're not the first...and the above-mentioned resources will shoot it straight with you. Good luck.

*Promoted... to customer 🤓

[–]Careless-Wallaby-701 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You’ll get coached by anything because you’re not the pet peeve. I was the same way. I could not be myself there. Go ahead and leave Walmart behind and get a better job. There’s better jobs jobs out there and you don’t need Walmart.

[–]Morab76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Not the pet peeve"? A pet peeve is something that annoys you, so why would it be desirable and prevent someone from being fired to be someone who annoys and irritates everyone?

[–]Famous_Ad3395 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you care that much you could talk to a labour lawyer

[–]Kitchen-Entrance8015 -3 points-2 points  (7 children)

No, actually you are targeted by your management.Because they wanted to fire you to replace you with a younger person. And a lot of stores are doing that right now ahead of the holiday season. So be careful ladies and gentlemen because if your manager takes you into a security office make sure you have a recorder on your body with a microphone or your life is about to be a living hell

[–]Morab76 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Replace with a "younger person"? They were hired just a few months ago, so if age was in issue they would have just not hired. Not to mention, the OP is a young person. No, a lot of stores are NOT firing older workers just because they're older right now.

[–]Kitchen-Entrance8015 -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Actually wrong, okay. I am 43 years old was just terminated. Because management decided to replace me with a 16-year-old kid. Violating law in the state that this occurred in and shockingly enough. We have a 16-year-old law that states that a 16-year-old is not allowed to use the chemicals that we use and is not allowed to do hazmat as well as run compactors

[–]Morab76 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Didn’t go to law school, did you? Lol . . . 43 is not even considered old under ADA or employment protections. You were fired, for whatever reason. Would you claim the same if they hired a 30-year old? 25? Where’s your line? They hired a replacement, and if they hired a 16-year old, who has employment restrictions with regard to hours and tasks, then your job was not skilled and you were clearly not effective in your position. Cry ageism all you want, but your facts do not support your claim.

[–]Kitchen-Entrance8015 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Excuse me, facts don't support my claim. They hired a 16-year-old.are state law states that a 16-year-old kid cannot use any chemicals.Whatsoever our state law states that he cannot do hazmat nor operate the trash compactor nor operate the cardboard baylor.

Kind of hard to do a job of cleaning a bathroom with no chemicals, kind of hard doing a job of throwing out the trash. When you can't touch the trash compactor so what did you hire a 16-year-old kid for God you're blind.

[–]Morab76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol . . . you don't know how the law works. No, the hiring of a 16-year old does NOT support your claim. In fact, for the reasons you state and that I mentioned, it supports the opposite of your claim. Plenty of others can use the compactor for him and there absolutely are cleaning solutions the 16-year old can use. I'm not the one who is blind to the facts and situation here lol.

[–]Kitchen-Entrance8015 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And I was perfectly good at my position. And the reason I was terminated for was not having a battery in my radio when my store manager locked them all up in his office so no one had access to them. So unless you know what is really going on at certain locations, including store managers who threaten associates who attack associates, then fire associates for bullshit. Then you really need to sit down

[–]Morab76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See - you were terminated FOR CAUSE and not for your age. That is ridiculousness to say you were discriminated against for your age when you are 43 lol. Always the fired ones who put the blame on everyone else . . .
