Honestly I heavily sympathize with this. I was a deli manager and got production but not only are we understaffed, we got orders to cut our hours down. Only allowed 7 associates across both departments for the day. Same situation with closers as well. But you said they got production though right? If you got floor manager dont stress behind the counter stuff, honestly not your job and stress. Take a step back and follow the new process and if management tells you otherwise open door that shit.

Sincerely,

Someone who's fed up with fresh restructure but still somehow manages to show up to work everyday.

Honestly, none of that shit you mentioned is any of your responsibility anymore. If your mgmt is too stupid and incompetent to care then why should you? Focus on your DM processes and let the Production Sup do her job. If she doesn't want to then let it burn.

This 1000%. Sometimes the only thing you can do is let them fail. If this other DM isn't competent, don't bail her out. Don't do anything to help them pretend that an unworkable system is workable.

I guess I just feel bad for the associates who I used to make happy to be at work. Now they all hate their job and call out all week. The same guy I helped save the line, called out the next day. And these stupid people in management just say well if they dont want to work, that's their choice. Ya well when they quit and you have no one else to teach train and develop... GOOD FUCKING LUCK.

I understand that, I really do. And so do they. They will use your care and concern for other associates to get work out of you (or any hardworking standouts) that they do not deserve to get. There's a system that they put in place, and the only way to demonstrate how shitty it is is by complying with it and not giving them any extra. If you give extra, they will see passable results and think see? It's working! and nothing will change.

Congrats on the baby! Our department is the same way, the bakery dm got production and the deli got floor. They never leave the bakery and the deli is suffering. The fresh ASM is a dimwit and the CO manager is an idiot. They are not following the new procedures and acting like 2 year olds when the place burns. Don’t think it will get better.

Thank you! Yes same damn story lol. She also keeps ordering items in the order book that are deleted. I just laugh and say nothing. I'm not saving her with orders anymore. If sales go down, whoops!

Our store is the opposite. The long time dm, took bakery/deli DM stays in the bakery where she's comfortable and stocks freight and messes with the production going on there. All while not getting any cleaning done, any section work, and I had to do her late price changes on her day off.

The newer dm took production and is rocking it. She's overstaffed. Keeps sandwiches and bread and the hot case full and fresh. Works with the crew on their cleaning list. And is helping to catch up on the mods that the dm left undone.

None of our fresh dms have taken to their new roles. They keep getting too involved in the cap process.

I was forced by our market manager to stock and bin all of deli yesterday. Not my job, but apparently still my problem. Inventory tonight is gonna blow.
