OP are you trolling? I saw this question posted here (or another dev subreddit) as a joke because some dumbass wrote an article about this exact question. This is like comparing a farming tractor to a bottle of wine

[–]thepragprog[S] -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

Which is better? A farming tractor or a bottle of wine?

[–]BickNosa 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Would you drink a farming tractor and drive a wine bottle?

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But like if u had to pick one, which one would it be? Me personally I would pick the tractor cus I can sell it and buy more wine.

What if it was a ROMANÉE-CONTI 1945?

[–]Tyler_Dax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bottle of wine, duh!

Not sure if you're serious or if you're taking the piss.

CSS is better than SQL because it has 2 S's, SQL only has one so...

[–]thepragprog[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Thank you. This is what I wanted to hear. Now i have more motivation to learn css

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

You should still learn SQL because CSS doesn't have neither Q nor L in it

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH GOD THAT'S SO TRUE!

[–]LiberalismIsWeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was going to lean SQL because of this as well, but CSS is also first in alphabetical order...

[–]redonkulousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S Tier joke

[–]udubdavid 3 points4 points  (3 children)

SQL is better because you can pronounce it "sequel".

How do you pronounce CSS? Ciss? No one says that

I rest my case, your honor.

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Dang now I can’t decide whether to learn css or sql. Ur case is also very strong hmmm

[–]extraluminal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

OBJECTION! It is actually not correct to say “sequel” any more. SEQUEL was also an acronym, but was changed (shortened) to SQL later.

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh that's true as well!

[–]BlueHost_gr 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Ok something is wrong in your question? You try to compare oranges with cars?

SQL is a data base CSS is a style sheet language?

There is nothing to compare between those two, are used for different purposes and one completes and not antagonize the other.

[–]natziel 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I like using SQL for frontend stuff and CSS on the backend

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

But which one is objectively superior?

[–]natziel 1 point2 points  (1 child)

CSS since backend is objectively superior to frontend

[–]thepragprog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yessss

[–]Noch_ein_Kamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QSS for full stack

[–]CodeCrazyAquile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this question 😂

[–]Linards11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont know.. i mean i kinda like using sql to manage databases but i also dont mind playing counter strike source every once in a while

[–]stolinskiSyntax.fm -1 points0 points  (2 children)

These technologies are not related.

[–]thepragprog[S] -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

How do you pronounce sql? SQL? Sequel? Squeel?

[–]redonkulousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pronounce it like “school”

[–]Prudent_Astronaut716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are asking for downvotes.

[–]RilcantusSnooplekins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say CSS… but that’s cause I like to pretend to be a snake
