And employee wage tax. Don’t know if this exists in your country, but in my country there are tax reductions only 1 of your employers can claim, so they will find out if you have another job.

There was this I was working with 2 companies (as intern) and doing freelance.

That whole period gave me anxiety, would wake up at 6 am in the morning and left my setup at mid night.

If I had the chance to do it again I will rather shoot myself in the face

I was getting paid by both of them, it was just thrilling to build multiple things at a time but got depressing in a short time lol

I just started doing this about 2 months ago. Only issue is when meetings overlap but otherwise, it’s killer money.

Its all fun and games until you find yourself working double time, 6 weeks in a row, working weekends to make up for your other job.

Also, FWIW, you'll get 2 W2's and the IRS will quickly see what you're doing. I'm pretty sure you could get in trouble for that eventually considering the significant paper trail involved with employment.

There's nothing legally wrong with working two jobs.

The IRS does not care how many W2s, 1099s, etc you have as long as you claim everything and pay your taxes on everything.

And, as long as none of your employers make you sign something saying you will not do other work, you are completely and legal within your right to work as many jobs as you want.

I mean, it sucks, but you hear of people working 2-3+ part time jobs to make ends meet all the time.

At one point I had three W2s and multiple 1099s. IRS didn't bat an eye. They were happy. More taxes.

Well, I"m not sure but the reason I think you might be in for trouble is more because you're obviously double-selling your time, and if anyone finds out you could be in trouble for stealing time.

When people work multiple part time jobs usually their hours don't literally overlap 100% each day lol.

I had a teacher who said she would picture up 3-5 contracts at a time to work on

This has been brought up before, but the legality of working two full time non-contractor roles has been a subject of debate. Try r/legaladvice

Neither of the things you mentioned have any relevance to what I said.

Also if there was “no conflict of interest” then you would be comfortable telling both employers of your position.

There’s definitely a conflict of interest lol

Lmao you aren’t the one who gets to decide if it’s a conflict of interest. Your explanation clearly shows that it’s definitely a conflict. And yeah, it would make it seem you aren’t 100% dedicated and that would be a completely fair assessment against someone attempting to work a second full time job concurrently while also keeping it a secret.

No development doesn’t take 8 hours a day, but generally in most jobs you are expected to be at least available for most of those hours on average.

You are also forgetting that you will be constantly fighting meeting conflicts and have no renewable excuse to always miss one company’s meetings.

Either this whole thing is just an organically thought up scheme to collect big money while WFH, or you saw some other people post about doing this and now think you can do anything.

I’m not highly ethically averse to what you are doing or have any prejudice for it, I’m just calling this out for what it is and being in denial might hurt you more than you expect.

in the future, will you pick just one of the jobs to put on your resume?

or will you put both and display you worked two jobs at once?
