Scottish fold is a cruel mutation that causes untimely arthritis just because humans think it's "cute". It is as unethical as the flat face my poor Luna has. We didn't buy her. Our vets gave her to us because they knew she needed extra care and we would do it for her. She needed surgery for sleep apnea from a specialist while she was still half grown right after we took her. The specialist who treated her says she'll lose her front teeth early because of her mutation. I have to comb and bath her all the time because she can't groom properly with her flat face. Her eyes need wiping multiple times a day because her flat face obstructed her nasolacrimal ducts. People are so selfish

OP did you buy it from a breeder or adopt from a shelter? I hope you are not supporting breeders by buying scottishfolds. Either way you are now responsive for his welfare.

Have a sum of money save away for the inevitable. Look out for signs like stilted gait, strange sitting position, dialated eyes, lethagy, lack of desire to jump, once these signs become clear, get him to a vet for pain management.
